Following her early
retirement from Hiram Walker due to the company's downsizing, Sharon Beintema went on to work
almost two years with CNIB where she was involved with special projects, fundraising
activities, and moving them to their current location. Sharon recognized a desire to work in
the not-for-profit sector because she wanted to do more for her community, and with the
increasing organizational television shows coming to air, it was enough to pique the interest
of her overly analytical and problem-solving mind.
It wasn't long before
Sharon made up her mind to bring klutterkleaner to life - with the help of the SEA
(Self-Employment Assistance) Program sponsored by the Government. The learning and the
support this program provided was essential to the first two years of the business.
klutterkleaner
has given Sharon the purpose that she's been seeking. She wanted the flexibility of working
for herself while she was able to put her life's experiences to good use helping others, and
she loves a good challenge - clutter issues are as unique as each client and no two days are
ever the same.
Although running her
own business for the past four years has been a dream come true for Sharon, it hasn't come
without challenges. Sharon has been faced with the realization that she can't do everything
herself, and she has had to learn to let go and to delegate.
In addition to her
career, Sharon is also a volunteer with the Essex County Victim Services Group - and has been
for several years - and she has found it increasingly harder to schedule her volunteer time
as klutterkleaner continues to grow. This past year especially has also presented a
tremendous struggle for Sharon - personally and professionally - because she spent much time
out of town due to family emergencies and her mother's passing. Her clients were supportive
and understanding, and she is grateful for
that.
Financially, as every
entrepreneur understands, starting a business is an expensive investment. As a new business
owner, Sharon has had to learn how to budget (particularly for advertising) because it is
easy to overspend on business necessities - but Sharon knows that she provides a valuable
service and it won't be long before klutterkleaner is a household name.
Through klutterkleaner,
Sharon provides professional, courteous, reliable, and flexible services with out-of-the-box,
unique solutions for everyone for everyday life. She is hardworking, she pays attention to
detail, and she is a joy to work with as she has been told by her clients.
There are many people
who live in conditions of utter chaos - some even life threatening, such as fire and rodent
hazards - that can cause mental and emotional turmoil. As well, there are a large number of
seniors who require assistance and care, and often have few people, if anyone, to tend to
their needs. klutterkleaner can help these people eliminate unnecessary stresses and
make everyday life much easier.
Sharon has received
many certificates of appreciation from the Centers for Seniors and the BBB, and she has been
awarded a NOVA Certificate of Achievement in National Community Crisis Response Team
Training. She remains very active in the community - as an individual and as a business - and
she lives a life full of happiness, friendships, family, enjoying her garden, and living
simply. She knows that today she will be helping someone regain order in their life and
eliminate stress, and she works toward a tomorrow where klutterkleaner will be worthy
of franchising.
