Move Management - Downsizing & Moving House
Change
need not induce stress - particularly for the elderly. Our older population can now face transition
moves into retirement homes, assisted living, long term care, or simply to a smaller home with a
sense of happiness and anticipation rather than fear and apprehension.
In March 2008, klutterkleaner
introduced our Seniors' Move Management services - a first of its kind in the Windsor & Essex
County area. This specialized service provides assistance to older adults and their families with the
emotional and physical aspects of downsizing and moving to a new location. The need is great as
currently there are some 37,500 seniors over the age of 70. Windsor alone has roughly 23,000 or
nearly 80% of the senior population. All who are involved with senior care will benefit from this
service - seniors themselves, caregivers, public trustees, lawyers, realtors, executors and those who
hold power of attorney for a senior.
Today,
many of us with aging parents live busy lives, have families of our own or have jobs which take us
far away from our loved ones. This makes it difficult to assist our parents with a difficult
transition. To make the move as easy as possible, contact
us as soon as the decision to move is made or during the downsizing planning process.
Our confidential, hands-on service provides care and compassion to seniors by creating a plan of
action to make the transition as smooth as possible. We liaise on your behalf with the moving company
and residence managers, create floor plans for the new residence, pack and co-ordinate the move, then
unpack and set up the new residence. The seniors need only arrive at the new location and settle in -
we complete all the work for them!
Change
is difficult for many, but for our senior population, the very fact of leaving surroundings in which
